Deacon Paul-Michael Piega
Birthday: February 4th
Home Parish: St. Mary Catholic Center, College Station
Level of Formation: VI Theology / Transitional Deacon
Seminary: Pontifical North American College
I am currently an ordained transitional deacon and in service for the Roman Catholic Diocese of Austin. Having been born in Queens, New York, and living there until the age of eight, my family and I moved to Texas. After graduating from Rowlett High School, I pursued Pre-Dentistry studies at Texas A&M University '11 where I initially began with a major in Biology. After a deep conversion experience in my sophomore year by attending a silent retreat during spring break, I fell back in love with my Catholic faith and began to discern a vocation towards the priesthood.
I graduated from Texas A&M University with a degree in Psychology and shortly thereafter entered seminary. I am an alumnus of St. Joseph Seminary College in St. Benedict, Louisiana, and the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome, Italy, where I received a Bachelors in Theology. I am currently in studies at the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross pursuing a licentiate degree in the Sacred Liturgy and also study at the Pontifical North American College in Rome, Italy.
I have a passion to draw others to the heart of God and believe that one can encounter God through the beauty of our faith, especially through the Church's liturgy and by having an intimate and personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
Moreover, I recognize that before anything else, I am a follower of Jesus Christ and an adopted beloved son of God. I enjoy praying for others, graphic designing, video making, singing, drawing, painting, ultimate frisbee and more, but above all, I enjoy sharing God's joy and love with others.
My hope is that you strive to become a saint and that you know that there is a God who loves you. Know of my prayers for you and I humbly ask that you please pray for me. May God continue to bless you!
